MODES AND FEATURES
Story Mode: เนื้อเรื่องภาคนี้จะอยู่ในช่วงระยะเวลา 25 ปีหลังจากภาค 9 (ภาครีเมค 1-3) ซึ่งจะมีทั้งเนื้อเรื่อง
ที่ต่อกันทันที และ 5 ปี, 10 ปี, 15 ปี, 20 ปี หลังจากนั้น แต่เนื้อเรื่องส่วนใหญ่จะอยู่ในช่วง 25 ปีหลังจากภาคแรก

Arcade Ladder: จะเหมือนกับโหมด Arcade ทั่วไป ที่เราจะต้องเล่นคนเดียว ต่อสู้ไปเรื่อยๆจนเจอบอสตัวสุดท้าย

Faction War: ในโหมดนี้จะเป็นการแชร์กันระหว่าง PS, Xbox และ PC คือ ในแต่ละสัปดาห์ผู้เล่นทุกคนจะต้องเลือกทีม
เช่น Lin kui, Black Dragon, White Lotus, Special Forces และ Brotherhood of Shadow และในแต่ละทีมนั้น
จะต้องช่วยกันเก็บแต้ม จากการทำภารกิจต่างๆ เช่น จบการต่อสู้โดยไม่ย่อตัวเลย, ใช้ท่า X-Ray บ่อยๆ
และทีมไหนที่คะแนนเยอะสุดจะได้รางวัลไป เช่นท่าโจมตีแบบใหม่ๆของทีมที่ตัวเองเลือก และอื่นๆอีกมากมาย

Test Your Luck: จะเป็นโหมดที่สุ่มความสามารถพิเศษทั้งดี และไม่ดีให้กับผู้เล่นทั้งสองฝ่ายก่อนเริ่มสู้ (หรือฝ่ายใดฝ่ายนึงถ้าโชคร้าย)
เช่น ติดพิษ, เพิ่มเกราะ, เวลาไม่มีจำกัด, สุ่มเปิดประตูมิติวาปผู้เล่น และอื่นๆ โดยจะมีความสามารถพิเศษทั้งหมด 5 อย่างในแต่ละรอบ

Kustom Kombat: จะเหมือนกับโหมด Test your luck เพียงแต่ผู้เล่นจะสามารถเลือกความสามารถพิเศษได้เอง 2 อัน

Test Your Might: คือ mini-game ที่มีมาตั้งแต่ Mortal Kombat ภาคแรก โดยผู้เล่นจะต้องทำลายบล๊อคต่างๆโดยการกดปุ่ม
หลายๆปุ่มพร้อมกัน เพื่อให้วงกลมนั้นเล็กลง แล้วถึงจะกดปุ่ม L2 R2 เพื่อนทำลายบล๊อคนั้นๆได้ (อธิบายยาก ลองหาคลิปดูครับ)

Living Towers: เหมือนกับ tower challenges แต่เป็นโหมดออนไลน์เท่านั้น โดยจะแบ่งออกเป็นสามหอคอยให้เราเข้าไปสู้ คือ
Hourly , Daily และ Premier ซึ่งในแต่ละหอคอยจะรีเซ็ทไปเรื่อยๆตามเวลาที่กำหนดคือ 1 ชั่วโมง 1 วันและ 1 สัปดาห์ตามลำดับ

The Krypt: แปลง่ายๆคือร้านขายของที่เราต้องนำเหรียญที่ได้จากการต่อสู้มาแลกซื้อ concept art, video, Fatalitie และตัวละครใหม่ๆ

Online: มีทั้งโหมดออนไลน์ 1v1 แข่งกันครั้งละสองรอบ หรือ King of the Hill ที่ผู้เล่นจะเข้ามาในห้องพร้อมกัน 8 คน
ซึ่งในห้อง 8 คนนี้จะต้องสู้กัน 2 คน ส่วนอีก 6 คนที่เหลือไปนั้งดู ใครชนะก็ได้สู้ต่อ ส่วนใครที่แพ้ก็กลับไปต่อคิว รอสู้ใหม่อีกรอบ

Polygon: 9/10
Mortal Kombat X is friendly both to casual players who want to experience its rich suite of single-player content and knock around with some friends, but deep enough for competitive players who want to plumb its roster and variations. It's a robust, feature-rich competitive fighting game that hones what's worked for NetherRealm Studios in past games, and even shows hints of restraint and maturity amidst the gory hyper-violence. Paired with an ambitious online meta-game, Mortal Kombat X is one of the best fighting games in the series.

Game Informer: 9.25/10
Mortal Kombat X is a fantastic successor in every sense. The mechanics may be similar to 2011’s strong release, but with so many new modes and features permeating every part of the experience, it’s a worthy upgrade. Mortal Kombat X is more than the continuation of NetherRealm’s successful vision for the franchise; it’s one of the best fighting games in years.

GameZone: 9/10
Fast, fluid, bloody, disgusting and yet so beautiful. It's an amazing successor to the 2011 title that one-ups it in nearly every way. Diverse characters, plenty of modes and a robust suite of multiplayer options make it a must for fans of Kombat.

USGamer: 4/5
Mortal Kombat X offers everything a fan could ask from except possibly their favorite character. The graphics and animations received a huge boost thanks to the power of the new consoles, and while not perfect, the net code is vastly improved over previous NetherRealm fighting games. The story mode has been streamlined to make it shorter, but it still retains the cinematic flare fans have come to expect. Faction Wars add an additional layer of polish, even if they aren't as impactful as NetherRealm intended, and Test Your Luck will provide hours of fun for more casual players.

PCWorld: 4.5/5
Mortal Kombat X is a near-perfect evolution of MK9, blending nostalgia with new roster additions that feel like worthy successors to those lost.

The Escapist: 4.5/5
Mortal Kombat X offers the best story mode I've ever personally seen in a fighting game. Its cohesive plot and extended cinematics makes you feel much more like a participant in a film than a player on the couch. The fighting is frantic, fluid, and dynamic, with the glorious goriness of the X-Ray moves often turning the tides of battle.

GamesRadar: 3.5/5
Mortal Kombat X has tons of polish, unique mechanics, and the genre's best story mode, but it doesn't do enough to keep players invested if they weren't already planning on it.

EGM: 7.5/10
When it comes to the gameplay, Mortal Kombat X is a solid fighting game, but a small roster and shoddy story hold it back from being a complete experience.
